Sculpture in the Gardens

Then the Lord said to Moses, “See, I have chosen Bezalel son of Uri,
the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, and I have filled him with the Spirit of God,
with skill, ability and knowledge in all kinds of crafts to make artistic designs for work
in gold, silver and bronze, to cut and set stones, to work in wood,
and to engage in all kinds of craftsmanship.”

Exodus 31: 1 – 5

The Sculpture Prayer Gardens will have a central cross-shaped, evangelistic Garden, which will present the Gospel of Christ, using Bible scriptures, as visitors view five large monumental sculptures by Christian artist/architect/evangelist, Max Greiner, Jr.  As funds and space allow, surrounding Gardens will feature the sculptures of other Christian artists.  However, the central Garden, featuring Greiner’s monumental sculptures, will be created according to the designs given to the artist by the Lord, for the specific purpose of bringing the “lost” to Christ.  Just as God gave Moses precise designs for the original Tabernacle, Max believes God has given him specific designs for this “last days” Tabernacle.

Max was “called” to create this new Tabernacle through a prophetic “Word” spoken publicly in front of more than 100 people.  On December 9, 2001, Max and Sherry Greiner were visiting Cathedral of Praise Church in Austin, TX.  In the middle of his sermon, guest Pastor/Evangelist, Mahesh Chavda turned, faced the Greiners and began to speak a prophetic “Word” over them, to the surprise of everyone.  Mahesh said God was calling Max to rebuild the “Tabernacle of David” and that the sculptures he had created during his lifetime would be used by God to decorate this new Tabernacle.  The original Tabernacle described in the book of Exodus was the place where God’s people first worshipped Him in the wilderness.

The Greiners did not understand Mahesh’s “Word” until later, when God used Marlon Quibodeaux and Jeff O’Neal to confirm that the Sculpture Prayer Garden “Vision” given to Max in September of 2002, was in fact the new Tabernacle, God wanted Max to build.  This new “last days” Tabernacle was one that could be built in every nation, for millions to see around the world!

The five monumental Greiner sculptures featured in the evangelistic Garden are: “Fisher of Men”® (Jesus calling Andrew & Simon Peter, Matthew 4: 18 – 20).  “Divine Servant”® (Jesus washing the feet of Simon Peter, John 13), “The Great Commission”® (The Word, the World and the Rock, Matthew 28: 19 – 20), “The Empty Cross” TM, (The Resurrection cross, Hebrews 12: 2)and “The Coming King”® (Jesus returning in glory at the end of time, Revelation 19: 11 – 12.)

Additional photographs of these Greiner sculptures, and the amazing true stories of how God “called” the artist to create each sculpture, are featured in the artist’s Christian Art Catalog, which can be viewed and downloaded “on-line” at the Max Greiner Jr. Designs website: www.maxgreinerart.com

Note: It is hoped that additional sculptures by other Christian artists will be featured in nearby adjoining gardens, as funds and space allow.  Other “Born-Again” artists and artisans creating Christian art and sculpture are listed in the Resources section of this website.
